The g at the end of command means it is intended for a guild. There are additional commands that you may use with /g, including /ginvite, /gkick, etc.

Having to wait 30 days reduces the incentive to join guilds just for the tax free trades through the guild bank. 30 days might be too long but it should be at least a full week (7 days not just til the next weekly reset).
