Well if it's your AC that causing you to overheat then to me that means your cooling system is marginal and the increase in heat load from the AC is overloading it. X2, that problem is typically caused by a bad fan clutch causing the fan to not pull enough air through the radiator when you're idling/sitting still. When you press the piston back into the caliper to install the new pads, the piston and seals get into this mess and can cause the pistons to stick. If the pistons stick, they may not release completely from the rotor, which can cause overheating.

Big Warn winch, transmission cooler in front of radiator, and 8" driving lights up front too. My present TJ (the black one) has the same cooler (but for power steering) in front of the radiator and a Warn winch in front of the radiator. Never an overheating problem on either of them caused by those extra items positioned in front of the radiator.

I would recommend lowering the Jeep to 2.5-3.5 inches of lift unless you are prepared to do a lot of extra work to make 6 inches of lift comfortable.
