We accomplished many major milestones for our 1D7 transition and I wanted to share a little blimp you’ve all been waiting for!! As you can see it will be a direct conversion a.k.a. one for one transition come November.

1D7 Shreds - Any decision on the COAs. ANG Currently Serving Member Question. There was a 1D7 All Call at the end of June. At it, there were 3 COAs presented on how the career field would shred out. When asked the question when a decision on what COA would be moved forward on, the answer was "within days". It's now August.
While you are in tech school you will do one of the shreds and for a 3 level you would be a 1D731A/B but when you get your 5 level you would be converted to a new shred. Working at a NOS/COS, OR working at a base whose network is NOT managed by a NOS/COS, are where I got the most hands-on experience and learned the most. As a Z, you're put into the same shred as Knowledge Ops (P shred) and as 7XF you'll ...1B4 here as well just to chime in on what others are saying. Retraining is the best option, picking a 1D7 shred will expose you to the IT side of things before you start looking into the 'warfare' side of things. I've seen prior Intel, maintenance, security forces, personnel, services….you name it…everyone has come through.A little late but per the email from MyPers I got, all shreds in the 1D7 AFSC require the same ASVAB/EDPT scores, which says "General: 64 & EDPT: 57, OR Electrical: 60 & EDPT: 57." I was also sent a waiver form which nulls the requirement of even taking the EDPT at all that's good through October 2022. RF shred can be useful, I got a pretty good civilian job, but for 1D7 your best bet is Cyber Transport, gets you Sec + cert and networking is a great civilian trade. 1D7 is comm.The assignment team has been pretty transparent on what's happening and how to use TM. They have done countless QA sessions and post on FB/Milsuite frequently. Also… the deadline for E6 and below assignment load is next week. Now for the CFM, the 1D merger has been happening for years way before he even took over the position.The schedule says 1st week of January; which if this is anything like the old way, combined with looking at threads for AFSCs already using it, it'll probably be Friday.
