Simply twisting/pulling tears up the substrate badly . After my first tub the substrate looked like a yard that had 1000 gophers in it. I ended up having to pull the substrate that was attached to the base of my mushrooms and press it back in as an attempt to fill all of the holes.Im testing a mini dub tub without poyfill, im using 1/4 pinch holes just above the substrate level.
