Course Forgiveness A student may request forgiveness of a course by completing the "Course Forgiveness Form." The following conditions must be met. Courses taken at Jefferson State Community College must be repeated at Jefferson State Community College for the student to be eligible for course forgiveness.Students may scan and email these documents to [email protected]. Students who are employed by Florida Tech in any capacity (work-study, College Role, GSA) must contact the Office of Human Resources regarding official name changes (321-674-8100).Grade forgiveness is the process whereby a new grade replaces a former grade when calculating GPA. The first attempt will remain on the transcript, with a footnote indicating the the course has been repeated and the grade discounted (replaced). The first attempt will not be calculated in the GPA or units earned.A course that has increased in credit hours (for example, a 2-credit hour course becomes a 3-credit hour course), is eligible for grade forgiveness. The credit hours awarded will be determined by the number of credits the student earned with the higher grade when applying grade forgiveness.

When a course is repeated more than once, all grades for the course, excluding the first grade, are used to compute the cumulative grade point average.
