Sep 1, 2020 · 1 - 4 of 4 Posts. It's not a recall, it's just extended warranty. There's multiple threads on it. They aren't going to redesign the entire PCV system on a car that's been out of production for 4 years. Got the letter today and I just laughed. The car is slightly outside the mileage limits. "Don't just drive CRUZE!" The extended warranty provides coverage for only the valve cover. The PCV system has an extra check valve in the intake manifold that regulates PCV pressure at idle/deceleration or when the turbo is used. That check valve is the cause of valve covers popping and oil leaks. The intake manifold replacement is NOT covered by the extended warranty.I have the same issues with my 2011 chevy cruze. I replaced the valve cover over 5x. When it go over a certain rpm its starts leaking oil. And also today started leaking oil around the oil filler cap. Thinking it maybe the intake manifold. But i know theres two check valve one in the pcv hose and one in the intake manifold any ideas pls.

The water pump is covered for 10 years 150K miles, but I've owned my cruze since it's been new, and I don't remember an extended warranty coverage for the PCV valve. I believe it's covered by the 5 year/100K powertrain warranty. It also depends on when the car went into service.
