Early CJ-3A frames and M-38 frames have the tabs for installing bottom mounted radiators like the CJ-2A has.1947 CJ2A 106327, Engine J109205, Tub 97077. Luzon Red. My 47 CJ2A only has the drum, everything else is missing. Just looked at the plates on the Army Jeep Parts site and they are on sale for $45. Then you can move the actuating lever by hand, make your adjustment and roll the tire to see if the brake is holding. cj2a, Output seals can be changed with transfercase still in jeep. 1) remove drive shaft. 2) remove cotter pin and nuts form yoke. 3) pull off yoke. 3.5) opps forgot, remove parking brake drum. 4) use a seal puller and remove old seal. (looks like a T with hooks) 5) inspect seal surface on yoke. seal surface should be smooth where the seal ...Q: what oil filter element does the CJ-2A use? A: depends on which filter canister assembly you have. Over the years, 5 different canisters were used, calling for 4 different elements. I'm guessing that the alignment issue mentioned is getting the transmission main shaft in the flywheel/clutch shaft pilot bearing when reassembling the transmission and bellhousing to the engine. The felt seal is really more of a dust and dirt blocker. It does catch a few drops that might come out but any kind of real leak around the rubber seal will quickly saturate the felt seal. You have to replace the rubber lip seal in the transfer case and make sure the yoke seal surface is smooth with no groove where the rubber seal rides.

It probably don't have anything to do with the fuel pump since the jeep was running alright. Be sure you have good inline fuel filters, I run one before the fuel pump.
