If you hate the boxes but need info sometimes, I recommend it. Menu-> Character Configuration -> UI settings -> uncheck "Display item help" box. Even after patch 4:11 I can't scale the NPC text dialogue box anymore by right-click 140% or 120% and it is extremely irritating.
