I was on an AA 738 last week in an exit row with tray table in the armrest and it was unusually tight. MD90 is a yes, the tray tables are in the armrest. 738 has the tray table in the arm rest and it's a noticeable loss of width. My memory for the CR9 is a little fuzzy.
